About Me:ShowMusic has been in existence since the beginning of mankind, and I do think it's here to stay. I believe music has touched everyone's life in some way at some moment. I'm here to share the blessing of music with others. My main philosophy is to be OPEN-MINDED! Whatever a student wants to learn, my job is to cater to that specific plan of the individual. Whether the goal is to play all Bob Dylan tunes, or to be able to improvise on jazz standards, or to make original compositions, I can adjust to every student's style of learning and goals. I appreciate all students: those who want to make music their full-time career, as well as those who simply want to relieve stress and enjoy the purity of it all. Our capabilities as humans are greater than we give ourselves credit for. With patience and the right motivation (and of course a knowledgeable teacher), many students will see great success. Music is beyond skill alone, it is an art. The idea is that we can all connect musically, and all understand that music holds no boundaries. -"Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand" --- Stevie Wonder

About Me:ShowWhether an adult or child, my students learn a great deal even in the first lesson. From that point on there is an abundance of knowledge that can be shared to help them become a better singer. Once they have started to learn, it is up to them to put the time and energy into training their voice. Depending on the amount of time they have to practice and their goals, lessons are taught with the needs of the individual student in mind. I find teaching with patience and a sense of humor at times helps the student feel at ease and have fun while learning.

About Me:ShowOne of my main ambitions as a teacher of music is to provide context for the student. By providing such information, a student is able to better understand their repertoire and thus express themselves more effectively, as well as perform their music more proficiently. I feel that I have been blessed with the opportunities to experience a number of very diverse styles over the course of my musical career. From my classical training to my experiences in my experimental/post rock band, I feel I have gotten the chance to become acquainted with a good deal of disparate styles, which I can pass on to my students. Furthermore, I have a strong background in music theory and composition, which I feel are invaluable subjects to help illuminate the study of music. They will be heavily emphasized in my curriculum. To compliment the above, I strive to create and maintain a dynamic of respect between students and myself, to facilitate effective learning and free expression.
