In a lot of ways, having one-on-one french horn lessons with a private teacher beats taking them in a class. It's easy to get left behind in a class with other students. You might even feel nervous about asking questions in front of other students when there's something you don't understand. With private french horn lessons you can pose questions directly to your instructor.
In just a few easy steps, Encore Music Lessons can match you with a friendly private french horn instructor. Feel free to go to our French Horn Teacher Directory and pick out an instructor you like. We can also pick out a teacher for you using our expert knowledge and opinion.
In some ways learning the french horn is similar to learning a new language. In the beginning you rely on a teacher and learn basic skills. Little by little over time, you become able to "say" what you want.
To ensure that you get the most from your french horn lessons, you can choose to receive instruction at your home, your workplace, or at a teacher's studio nearby.
If you're an intermediate or advanced player you can begin to focus on different genres of french horn like classical.
If you're ready to get going, give us a call today. We'll be happy to match you with an excellent teacher.

The single horn is usually pitched in the key of F, although smaller instruments (for children) may be pitched in B flat. Compared to the other brass instruments in the orchestra, it has a very different mouthpiece, but has the widest range-- approximately four octaves (depending on the ability of the player).
