About Me:ShowI have been teaching music since 1990. During that time, I have developed a clear and direct method of teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. I am focused on communicating the art of music in a way that speaks to the student's interests and builds bridges for further exploration. My approach is twofold, the development of sound physicality and nurturing of artistry.

Discipline is key to understanding music and how to train yourself, but, one will never appreciate the hard time and commitment it takes to practice if it isn't a exercise that is not only efficiently progressive but also FUN.

About Me:ShowI begin a teaching relationship by learning about my student's motivation, goals, and musical interests. By discovering what excites a student about music and their instrument, I can create tailored lessons that perpetuate their inspiration and drive. My experience and diverse musical background will open new doors for students, constantly creating new and exciting challenges. Lessons focus on Technique, Note-Reading, Standard and Modern Repertoire, Theory and Improvisation.
Styles: Classical, Jazz, Rock, Blues, Country, Pop, Funk, Fusion, Folk, Latin
Ages: Elementary School, Pre-teen, Teenage, Adult
Availability: City of Chicago all neighborhoods
Education: Jazz Studies (BM), DePaul University School of Music [2004]
About Me:ShowWith any teaching, there is a give-take relationship between the student and instructor that fluctuates in both directions. I find that teaching is just as rewarding as learning. I, myself, am still a student and in no way could consider myself a master. I am educated on many different subjects and styles, yet I still have a lot to learn. My pledge to my students is that I will never make you feel inadequate or dumb. I am extremely patient because that is how I would like to be taught to get results.
