In a lot of ways, having one-on-one trombone lessons with a private teacher beats taking them in a class. It's easy to get left behind in a class with other students. You might even feel timid about asking questions in front of classmates. With one on one lessons your teacher gets to know you on a more personal level and can help you directly.
Encore Music lessons can put you in touch with a great trombone in a few simple steps. You can browse our Trombone Teacher Driectories and inquire about a teacher you like. If you prefer we can make a choice for you using our own expertise.
In some ways learning the trombone is similar to learning a new language. You start by learning the basics, and by imitating others. With practice you begin to express yourself.
Different students learn the trombone in different ways. That's why at Encore Music Lessons we give you the choice of taking lessons in your home or at a teacher's studio. Choose whichever option is most comfortable for you.
As an intermediate or advanced student you can start learning different styles of trombone music such as jazz, musical theatre and classical.
To get started, give us a call today! We'll be happy to match you with an excellent teacher.
Encore Music Lessons gives students a chance to play the trombone in public each year at our annual spring recital.

Until the early 18th century, the trombone was called the sackbut in English, a word with various different spellings ranging from sackbut to shagbolt and derived from the Spanish sacabuche or French sacqueboute. This was not a distinct instrument from the trombone, but rather a different name used for an earlier form.
