About Me:ShowThere is no one method for teaching music. However, structure is important and of great value for a musician among musicians. As a teacher, I look to build upon a student's natural strengths, whether that be an ear for music, a passion for a particular type of music, or the ability to read, write and decipher written music. At the same time, I find value in approaching any weakness in different ways to produce a well-rounded student that can eventually flourish as a professional musician.

About Me:ShowI primarily give instruction from a traditional, western classical perspective, although I feel comfortable with a number of different styles, including rock, country, blues, and basic jazz. As a teacher, I am happy with creating an individual curriculum for students to work within, or, with exceptionally motivated or advanced students, letting them take the initiative with what they choose to learn. In these latter cases, I see my role more as a facilitator than as an instructor.

Styles: Rock, Blues, Heavy Metal, Gospel, Pop, Rockabilly, Country

Ages: Pre-teen, Teenage, Adult

Education: Masters of Music in Composition (MM), Manhattan School of Music [2000]

About Me:ShowI have been a private music instructor for almost a decade. Not so long ago I was a shy 10 year old kid who wanted to learn Nirvana songs and was fortunate to learn from someone who could relate to me and make playing the guitar a lot of fun. My students enjoy lessons not just for the opportunity to study and create music, but they also appreciate a positive and fun environment I tend to put forth. My primary goal is to help people accomplish personal goals they are pursuing and not to orient them to what I consider most important.

Styles: Rock, Blues, Folk, Heavy Metal, Slide Guitar, Celtic, Rockabilly, Country, Bluegrass

Ages: Elementary School, Pre-teen, Teenage, Adult

Availability: Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Bay Ridge, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, Williamsburg, Sunset Park, Brooklyn Heights, Bed Stuy, Crown Heights.

About Me:ShowI am about reaching the goals of where the student wants to be and beyond. If someone wants to be a professional, I will provide the necessary tools to get there. If someone wants to just have fun and play around with their friends, i will provide the basics so that the student can feel comfortable in most situations. I basically teach theory, technique, and good interpretational skills. These three things will get any musician where they want to be.

About Me:ShowI believe that lessons should be suited to each students particular goals and needs. I hope to foster an environment in which the student can best pursue their own playing goals and the styles they are most interested in. My job as a teacher is to foster the student's abilities and creativity and to introduce them to concepts, techniques, and musics that will challenge and inspire them.
