Eleanor M., Cello Teacher, Brooklyn
(718) 608-6080
About Me:
I like to get to know my student's individual interests before devising our approach. I will borrow methods from Suzuki or particular books, if I think that it will benefit the student. All of my lessons touch on history, theory, and ear training. As we dissect particular lines or passages, I believe that the importance of knowing why we are learning is as important as training ourselves physically. Most importantly, music should be fun! I encourage my students to keep reminding themselves what drew them to music in the first place.

In cello playing, the bow is much like the breath of a wind instrument player. The right hand holds the bow and controls the duration and character of the notes.
