About Me:
I have been playing guitar for 13 years, and teaching private lessons for 6. I love teaching students off all levels, beginner to advanced. Whatever your musical interests or goals, my job is to pinpoint those goals and interests, and to give you a clear path to your creative/musical self.

Teaching you to play music that you are drawn to is my number one priority. Of course that can’t happen without some hard work. I will help you to create a manageable practice schedule for yourself, with clear assignments every week. You’ll be playing your favorite music before you know it!

Major Influences:
My initial influences were the blues/rock greats, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dave Gilmour etc. Those players led me to the Jazz greats, including Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, John Scofield, Bill Frisell among others. Lately my focus has shifted to more composed and song-based music. My influences in that vein include Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, David Bazan, Dave Longstreth, Phillip Glass, Arvo Part, and others. My music is also greatly influenced by a number of new experimental/Indie bands, including Animal Collective, The Dirty Projectors, Grizzly Bear etc.
