Jacob V., Piano Teacher, Brooklyn
(718) 608-6080
About Me:
I learn as much as I can about the student, getting them to open up thru humor and discussing interests besides music. If something is bothering them it's going to effect their concentration. I want them to feel that music can be a way to channel their feelings into something that provides release. I believe that sometimes the best thing for a student is to have a witness while he/she works out an idea. The basis of this relationship is that I want them to feel that they can attempt things that are beyond their reach.

The word piano is a shortened form of the word pianoforte, which is seldom used except in formal language and derived from the original Italian name for the instrument, clavicembalo [or gravicembalo] col piano e forte (literally harpsichord with soft and loud).
