Learning to play the viola can be a lot of fun, and it gives you a skill that stays with you for the rest of your life. Finding an experienced viola instructor is a key early step on your path.
Matching viola students with great teachers is what Encore Music Lessons does best!
To provide you with the best possible experience, viola lessons are offered in your home or office taking into account your schedule. Or if you prefer, you can arrange to take lessons at a teacher's studio nearby.
Whatever your age, and whatever your level of ability, Encore Music Lessons will match you with a viola teacher that's just right. No matter what your schedule is like, Encore Music Lessons will work to match you with an accommodating teacher.
Encore Music Lessons won't lock you into a semester or lesson-term contract, so you're able to start and stop lessons when you want.
Just give us a call and tell us the kind of teacher you're looking for, or pick a teacher yourself using our Viola Teacher Directories.
Students and teachers need to have good chemistry, so if it's not there give us a call and we'll make another selection.
For your comfort, all instructors are thoroughly backround checked and referenced checked.
Our students got an opportunity this year to play the viola in front of a crowd at our annual spring recital.

The casual observer may mistake the viola for the violin because of their similarity in size, closeness in pitch range (the viola is a perfect fifth below the violin), and identical playing position. However, the viola's timbre sets it apart: its rich, dark-toned sonority is more full-bodied than the violin's.
