Aaron H., Flute Teacher, Long Island
(516) 568-4942
About Me:
I like to combine all aspects of music education, not just technique and music reading, into my teaching approach. Often times, students are simply handed a book and are told to play. These students do not get introduced to theory, ear-training, pitch recognition, composition, performance techniques, general musicality, and fundamental setup (breathing, embouchere, finger/hand position). By combining these topics with high level instrumental technique training, I bring out the best in a student.

The standard concert flute is pitched in the key of C and has a range of 3 octaves starting from middle C (or one half-step lower with a B foot). This means that the concert flute is one of the highest common orchestral instruments, with the exception of the piccolo, which plays an octave higher.
