About Me:ShowThe most important element of good singing is building a solid vocal technique FIRST. While stylistic elements can and should be incorporated in the lesson, a singer, regardless of genre, needs to have a mastery of their instrument; this includes learning breath control, resonance, articulation, vocal agility, register blending and range development...all this while maintaining good vocal health. Creativity is another essential element for developing musicianship; consequently, emphasis in lessons is placed on learning theory / ear training.

I teach just about every style of music from classical to pop to musical theatre, and can help train the ear to hear what makes each genre unique in its own way. I spend a lot of time on healthy vocal technique: Breathing, diction, range, musicianship, and making the voice sound its absolute best! About Me:ShowMusic is about expression. I see music, particularly vocal music, as a kind of universal language which brings everyone together. Individually, we all express these emotions in our own unique way. Using the bel-canto technique and utilizing a students own sense of creativity, it brings me great joy to work with a student and watch him/her grow not only as a singer, but as an artist. We each have within us a tremendous capacity to feel, to emote, and to use our diverse backgrounds and life experiences through song.
