About Me:ShowI believe that anyone at any age can be taught to sing. Perhaps not every person is cut out to be a rock singer or a Broadway star, but everybody has some kind of musical gift inside them and can be taught to control their voice. I would love to be even a little bit responsible for someone realizing their dream and learning to conquer a style of singing that they have always loved. My voice lessons will certainly not only be about the voice itself, but rather the art of a well rounded performance. I will teach the basics of sight-reading, musicality, and especially, how to actually perform a song with your face and body while singing.

About Me:ShowMusic is about expression. I see music, particularly vocal music, as a kind of universal language which brings everyone together. Individually, we all express these emotions in our own unique way. Using the bel-canto technique and utilizing a students own sense of creativity, it brings me great joy to work with a student and watch him/her grow not only as a singer, but as an artist. We each have within us a tremendous capacity to feel, to emote, and to use our diverse backgrounds and life experiences through song.

About Me:ShowMy teaching philosophy includes the standard answer of most music instructors... building strong technique, theory, rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic understanding, and a strong musical repertoire. My first priority is to instill a love and enjoyment of music. Lessons and music should be fun, yes hard work, but fun. I want a half hour, or an hour or 45 minutes to go by and the student to not even realize it. I think there is a musician in everyone. We all have musical ability it's just a matter of tapping into it.
