Regardless of the style of music, each genre requires similar demands from the student: strong work ethics, commitment and dedication. Experience:
- Began a career in music at the age of 16. Performed and recording in Australia on major national television shows and radio through 1988. Began writing lyrics to her own music as well as for other composers. [1970 - 1988]
- Awarded International Study Grant from Australia Council, traveled to NYC in 1988 to further her studies in jazz. [1988 - 1991]
- Performed and released several recordings in the USA. Waltz for Debby (1991) Recording received substantial press and accolades both in the States and internationally. The first recording to include several McNulty originals or co-written material. First major international radio feature on ABC's Nightly Planet. [1991 - 1991]
- Selected as one of six vocalists from NYC to appear on Big Apple Recordings - Top NYC Vocalists. [1993 - 1993]
- A Time For Love (MC4545 - 1995) I Remember You (ED4546 - 2004). Travelled to Russia in 2002 to perform at St Petersburg's first ever "White Nights" Jazz Festival. Dance Delicioso (ED4547 -2005) featured seven McNulty originals performed by several of the most outstanding and most well respected jazz musicians on the international jazz scene: Mulgrew Miller, Gary Bartz, Billy Hart, Gary Thomas as well as Paul Bollenback who holds co-producing credits. In 2005 formed a record company with Paul Bollenback - Elefant Dreams. Produced and/or collaborated on several projects including her own recordings as well as making a guest solo appearance on Paul Bollenback's Brightness of Being (ED4548. In 2006, McNulty's 6th recording, Whispers the Heart(ED4549 - 2006) was released to international and critical acclaim. [1994 - 2006]
- Whispers the Heart (ED4549 - 2006) voted one of the Top Ten recordings of 2006 by Jazz Journalist Association. McNulty recently completed a highly successful 7 week global tour - encompassing several countries including: USA, Australia, Russia and UK. She continues to tour internationally with noted guitarist Paul Bollenback performing at major festivals and/or concert venues. Performing and teaching (workshops) in various cities and colleges throughout the country as well as internationally, most recently, University of Adelaide - May 2007. McNulty appears on Paul Bollenback's Invocation (ED4550) set for release this coming October 2007. [2007 - Present]
