About Me:ShowI believe that, for a pianist, one of the most important conditions to becoming a good performer and a teacher is having excellent teachers. Teachers inspire and influence their students. I feel lucky that I had a chance to always work with some of the best piano teachers and professors. While being in the Music High School in Varna (Bulgaria) I studied with Maria Gineva (a Moscow Conservatory graduate), one of the top music school teachers in Bulgaria. Later, during my studies at the National Academy of Music in Sofia (Bulgaria), I had the privilege to work with one of the best piano professors in my country and an incredible pianist, Prof. Snezana Barova. She also graduated from the Moscow Conservatory where she studied with one of the best pianists of all times, H. Neuhaus. Working with these teachers, I was highly influenced by the Russian Piano School. I can say that I developed my performance and teaching styles as a product of this so-called "Russian piano style" with all of its characteristic elements - the beautiful singing tone, the flexibility of the phrase, and the unique expression of the performance. During my Doctorate studies at the SUNY Stony Brook I've been working with Prof. Dahl, a wonderful pianist and student of Gil Kalish.Living and studying in the US not only gave me the opportunity to observe some different performance approaches, but also new methods of teaching piano. As a result, in my teaching practice (especially working with beginners) I also incorporate some American Methods, such as Bastien's and Alfred's Methods. However, since I was taught in the Russian School of Piano Playing, that is the method that I primarily use in my teaching practice. Time and performance experiences throughout the centuries have proven that it is one of the best Piano Schools. In conclusion my belief is that a good teacher must have the patience and understanding that the students need and a good knowledge about human psychology, something that is very important when working with students from different ages and backgrounds.

About Me:ShowI have been a private music instructor for almost a decade. Not so long ago I was a shy 10 year old kid who wanted to learn Nirvana songs and was fortunate to learn from someone who could relate to me and make playing the guitar a lot of fun. My students enjoy lessons not just for the opportunity to study and create music, but they also appreciate a positive and fun environment I tend to put forth. My primary goal is to help people accomplish personal goals they are pursuing and not to orient them to what I consider most important.

About Me:ShowI address each student differently targeting his or her weak points to list the goals for the lessons. After a initial evaluation we schedule our plan and list the things we need to work on. Depending on the time the student has to practice I give homework which I encourage to practice on a musical context not only as a separated exercise.

About Me:ShowIt is my experience that learning to play the guitar begins with learning to use your body as it relates to the guitar. I teach proper use of the hands but also the body as a whole. I develop exercises custom made for each student that focus on the aspects that the student needs to develop and at the same time developing the students musical expression and quality of sound. When the student's body is used properly and the quality of sound is high, the student's musical expression can really come through and shine.

About Me:ShowI truly believe that no two students learn the same way. I love to make my lessons very personal to the student's unique personality and style. I teach just about every style of music from classical to pop to musical theatre, and can help train the ear to hear what makes each genre unique in its own way. I spend a lot of time on healthy vocal technique: Breathing, diction, range, musicianship, and making the voice sound its absolute best! I love to challenge my students, yet create a fun and positive learning environment!
