Student Reviews

Solid Teacher

I've been taking lessons with him for about 3 months now, and I feel like I am really beginning to make the turn into an actual guitar player, and I'm really excited about it. While most of us may want to just learn how to play (i.e. the songs you like, etc..), Chris really stresses learning the basics. Don't get me wrong, these lessons (chords, scales etc...) are fun - you are really learning and he teaches you cool things along the way that break it up. Chris encourages you to keep messing around on your own, and if you have trouble with something you're working on, he will teach you how to do it properly, and incorporate it into further lessons. All in all, solid teacher. If you want someone easy that's not going to push you, Chris is not the guy, but if you want to LEARN how to play the guitar and are serious about it, I highly reccomend

Think the Electric Guitar is Cool? So Do We!

In the past few decades, guitar lessons have eclipsed piano lessons in terms of popularity. It's easy to see why, too. The guitar is the foundation of most pop and rock music, and you can find variations of the guitar in music from all around the world. Besides, why slog away on a Chopin sonata when you can show off your speed-guitar skills to your friends? And from a practical standpoint, the guitar is an equally good "starter instrument" as the piano (meaning they both teach the foundations of music) -- but with much more versatility and on a much smaller instrument!

It doesn't take much convincing for a student take up the guitar. But in case you needed more reasons as to why the guitar is the coolest instrument in the world, we've made this infographic to inform and entertain you. From the science behind the guitar to the Air Guitar World Championships, here are 18 offbeat facts about the world's most beloved stringed and fretted instrument.
