The piano is the foundation of western music. It's range covers most of the pitches audible to human ears and is capable of enormous harmonic complexity. Because of this nearly all classical music by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart was first worked out on the keyboard before it was notated for other instruments.
These days the influence of the piano and it's modern counterpart, the keyboard, can be heard in the music all around us. The musical keyboard has become the way most artists interface with digital recording and mixing tools. In addition, with it's physical layout the piano is accessible technique-wise to anyone - from very young children to the most advanced concert and jazz pianists. For this reason the piano has always been one of the most popular instruments to take lessons on.
No Contracts
Just as no two people are alike, no two students learn the same way. Some people take lessons for years while others take lessons for a few weeks to prepare for an upcoming audition. Encore Music Lessons won't require you to make any long term commitments. Students are free to stop or start their lessons when they need to.
Perhaps you're considering learning the piano as well. You might be feeling a little overwhelmed by how much there is to learn. An experienced piano teacher can help you understand everything step by step, at your own speed.

NIKA - New York, NY Teacher: Nick M.About the Piano
The word piano is a shortened form of the word pianoforte, which is seldom used except in formal language and derived from the original Italian name for the instrument, clavicembalo [or gravicembalo] col piano e forte (literally harpsichord with soft and loud).
