I never thought I could play the guitar....

...but then I was connected with Ian through Encore music. He started out reassuring me that I could and would play and with hard work, would be very proficient. Ian is a very encouraging teacher who seems to have limitless patience and understanding. He teaches me what I want to play and has never suggested that I couldn't play a piece because it's 'Too Hard', only that I'll need to practice if I want to improve. I've been studying now for close to 6 months and I can already safely say 'I can play the guitar'. I have 3 songs (including a fingerstyle instrumental) under my belt and continue to learn more all the time and my mom in the UK heard me play for the first time last weekend and was shocked at how far I've come. I'd like to say it's all down to me and practice but without Ian's encouragement and belief, I wouldn't be as far along as I am right now. If you are serious about learning the guitar (or the piano), I can highly recommend Ian as an excellent teacher, you just can't have him Monday at 7 - that's my time :)

Both of my daughters (age 5 and 6) have had lessons with Antoinette since September. Our experience has been very positive! She is kind with the girls and motivates them as well. They previously had other teachers in Europe and my younger daughter was losing interest. My daughters have quite different personalities and I think Antoinette approaches them both very adequately. She has patience, perseverance, is flexible and has a good sense of humor. I highly recommend her!

Silvana Chu has been a fantastic teacher for my 5 year old son. She is patient and highly aware of my son's tendency to not focus (like most 5 year olds). Not only has Ms. Chu teaching my son piano, she is teaching him how to focus and to play the piano the right way. My wife and I couldn't be happier with Ms. Chu!

Andy was great! He quickly diagnosed my playing weaknesses and helped me think about the neck in a more systematic way. I'm anxious to see where my playing can go with his instruction. -Chad

A great teacher for beginners as well as advanced vocalists!

I am a true beginner. I recently joined my Church choir because I enjoy singing but was quite timid because I had no previous musical training. I wanted take singing lessons to improve my choir performance. I found Rebecca through Encore, and have been working with Recbecca for almost 2 months now. I must say that I have enjoyed every minute. Rebecca is a kind, patient, instructor who takes care to teach with excellence and sensitivity. She places a strong emphasis on technique and works hard to bring out the best in her students. My singing AND my confidence in choir has improved significantly. Rebecca has been a Godsend! She has my highest recommendation.
