About Me:
World renowned conductor, Ben Zander, makes a practice of having orchestra members and students exclaim, "How fascinating!" whenever a "mistake" is made. This embodies my attitude toward the music discovery process, and I encourage both the children and adults I work with to cultivate this attitude of exploration and unbridled creative expression. I tailor my approach to the individual and their goals, providing encouragement and the framework to achieve them!

5 out of 5 A miracle in Brooklyn - April 12, 2008

By Richard Brown, Voice Lessons

When I first signed up I was very clear this 61 year old non-singer was satisfied with being able to sing along with happy birthday. After three months, I sing a number of songs, in the shower, out walking my dog etc. Rachel first gave me the confidence that I can sing. She is technically so skilled and she teaches technique in a helpful way whether it is breathing, or singing from inside the head not the throat. Learning to sing and learning I can sing was a wonderful life-enhancing experience and Rachel was the key.

5 out of 5 High quality teaching with panache - August 28, 2007

By Alan Siege, Piano Lessons

My recently turn 10-year old daughter started with Rachel in October, 2006 as her instructor in piano and voice. There are many qualified and talented teachers out there, but because Rachel is a performing artist herself with with real-life experience (as my daughter says - "She has an album out.") she brings a professionalism that distinguishes her from the others.
