About Me:
I believe that training your voice in a healthy way is key to becoming a successful singer! I also emphasize the importance of conveying your story with confidence in any song that you love to sing. I'm happy to help you with any goals that you have, and we'll create a lesson plan that works especially for you! I teach all levels of singers, and I specialize in college and high school audition preparation. My students have been accepted to several performing arts schools and conservatories, and have appeared at prestigious venues throughout New York City.

I am very dedicated to teaching and performing all different styles of music! I start lessons with a series of vocal exercises that help students to acquire the best sound possible. I teach a method of vocal technique called Somatic Voicework© which smoothly connects the head and chest registers through various exercises.

I received a BFA in Vocal Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and specialize in pop, indie rock and jazz. I encourage students to explore repertoire from pop and rock to jazz and r&b. Finding songs that are meaningful to you will have a strong impact on an audience and can be life changing for you a singer!

I began performing at a young age in community theater musicals, and I have always had a passion for singing. As a singer/songwriter I perform regularly around the city with my band.

5 out of 5 Great Teacher!!!! - February 7, 2015

By Sarah, Voice Lessons

I am a student of Allie's and I am so happy to say it. She is an incredible artist and teacher. She makes you feel so comfortable. I have become so much more confident because of her. She is supportive and has always helped me come up with and practice material for auditions. I am currently in PPAS my dream school and I couldn't have done it without Allie's help. She really is amazing to work with and I would highly recommend her to everyone.

It has been my absolute good fortune to have Allie as my voice teacher. I have just returned to singing after a long absence and Allie has very skillfully brought back my confidence, strengthened my voice with vocal exercises and focus on breathing and timing, Her attentiveness in helping me to reach my vocal goals has encouraged me to select music that excites, challenges and keeps me eager to continue voice lessons with her for as long as I possibly can. I am happy to recommend Allie as an exceptional voice teacher .

Allie is a great instructor for new students. I am an adult with no previous musical training and I have had a great experience with Allie. She is patient and energetic which makes for a great instructor! I highly recommend Allie for students of all ages.

5 out of 5 Great teacher for beginning students - January 29, 2013

By AP, Piano Lessons

Allie has been teaching piano to my 5-yr-old son for about 4 months now. My son had never played an instrument before. I have been very pleased with the way that my son has progressed during that time, and Allie's lessons have played a large part in that progression! He can now read beginner music, can play a number of beginner songs, and has recently begun learning keys.

I was a little nervous at first because Allie seemed so young. But she has been very effective during their 30-minute weekly lessons. She communicates well with my son, finding a multitude of ways to motivate him every week. She has been on-time and well-prepared each week.

My son is quite wily at times, and he does not always want to focus (shocking, I know). Allie has always been extremely patient and kind with him. He really likes her as well - which, I must say, is a sentiment that I never had for any of my early music teachers when I was a child.
