About Me:
I believe that arts education can have a dramatic impact on a child's education, character development and sense of self-worth and thus have worked in music education throughout my career. For the past eight years I have maintained a private voice studio, teaching in styles from classical to popular music to students from a wide range of ages and abilities. I have a masters in choral conducting from the University of Oregon and am currently completing my doctorate in choral conducting, with a minor in vocal performance, from the University of Illinois. While in graduate school, I conducted undergraduate vocal ensembles as well as community choirs. I sing with a number of ensembles in Boston including BU Marsh Chapel and the Jameson Singers. I enjoy helping people not only improve their musical abilities, but, through music, learn life skills and build self confidence. I have recently relocated to Boston with my husband to start our careers near our families. In addition to music, I love kayaking, hiking, cooking and traveling.
